Nineteen young farmers from Houaphan recently participated at a ‘Future Farmers Camp’ in Luang Prabang. The camp was held at the Technical Service Centre under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF), where the youth learned about entrepreneurship, climate adaptation and community development. Visits to organic farms and the Kuangsi falls were included in the program, along with educational games, discussions, and plenty of fresh air!.

ເມື່ອບໍ່ດົນມານີ້, ຊາວກະສິກອນໜຸ່ມຈາກແຂວງຫົວພັນ 19 ຄົນ ໄດ້ເຂົ້າຮ່ວມ “ການຕັ້ງຄ້າຍການແລກປ່ຽນຊາວກະສິກອນໄວໜຸ່ມ” ທີ່ຈັດຂື້ນຢູ່ທີ່ສູນເຕັກນິກກະສິກຳ ແຂວງຫຼວງພະບາງ ເພື່ອຮຽນຮູ້ກ່ຽວກັບການເປັນຜູ້ປະກອບການ, ການຮັບມືກັບການປ່ຽນແປງດິນຟ້າອາກາດ ແລະ ການພັດທະນາຊຸມຊົນ. ໄວໜຸ່ມ ຍັງໄດ້ລົງຢ້ຽມຢາມຝາມກະສິກຳສະອາດ ແລະ ຕາດກວາງຊີ ພ້ອມທັງໄດ້ຮຽນຮູ້ຜ່ານການຫຼິ້ນເກມ ແລະ ການສົນທະນາແລກປ່ຽນຄໍາຄິດເຫັນ ພາຍໃຕ້ອາກາດສົດຊື່ນ.

The next Future Farmer Camp will be held for youth from Luang Prabang, after which groups from Oudomxay and Xieng Khuang will have the same opportunity. These are fun events that provide rural youth with skills they need to overcome the challenges faced by their communities and contribute to the Government goal of ‘Green and Sustainable Agriculture’.
